Maintenance Worker

The Gables at East Mountain, an independent living community in Rutland, Vermont, is seeking a maintenance person for a 32-hour a week position, including some weekend on-call coverage.

Our maintenance person is responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining The Gables exterior and interior, including work needed in resident apartments, common areas, grounds, walkways, and parking area.
  • Performing preventative maintenance duties on an ongoing and as needed basis.
  • Overseeing specialty and licensed contractors in the areas of landscaping, electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
  • Handling emergency preparation/drills and documentation related to such.
  • Responding to any urgent after-hours maintenance concerns.

The successful candidate for this position should have at least two years of prior maintenance experience in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, painting, and wall repairs. The ideal applicant must have a passion for seniors, be professional in all interactions, and respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.

Med Tech/Resident Aide (will train)

The Gables at East Mountain has the following openings on our residential care program that provides support to up to 20 residents:

  • Overnight shift (11PM-7AM): Med Tech/Resident Aide 24 hours per week, including alternating weekends.
  • Daytime position (6:45-9:45AM): Resident Aide 6 hours every other weekend.

Responsibilities include medication management (second shift position only), overseeing resident safety, and providing personal care as needed. LNA experience is preferred, but not necessary. We will train the right person. Med Tech education will be provided as well.

Candidate must be caring, dependable (we have a strict attendance policy) and work well with others.
